  • used for phrases (exact word order) - "sometimes a great notion" | "250 winter street ne salem or"
  • used surrounding single word for exact search (no fuzzy searching) - "catherine" hepburn
• * (asterisk)
  • used with quotation marks for wildcard searching - "oregon * plan" | "george * bush"
• OR (all caps)
  • "or" search in Google - use to combine synonymous terms - "portland OR pdx OR "rose city" "
• - (minus sign next to search term, no space!)
  • "not" search - use to exclude term from search - "pdx -airport"
