Minimum Conditions for Public Libraries in Oregon

Minimum Condition: Provide a website that enables local library users to access State Library of Oregon resources and services available to all Oregon residents.

The following resources provided by the State Library of Oregon are required to be made available through public library’s website:

• Access to statewide databases (provided for free by the State Library)
  • Gale/Cengage (for magazine/journal/news articles, reference eBooks, statistics, images, audio,  and video content)

• Access to statewide career skills and testing online resource (provided for free by the State Library
  • EBSCO LearningExpress Library (for practice tests, skills-building for math, reading, and writing, computer skills tutorials, e-books and career development tools)

Libraries of Oregon is a joint effort by the State Library of Oregon and Oregon State University Libraries to connect Oregonians with libraries and online resources around the state. These online resources can be used to find full text articles from magazines, journals, and newspapers, as well as reference ebooks, videos, images, and more. They cover a wide range of topics and offer research and life-long learning information for all ages. All Oregon residents have access to online resources provided by the State Library of Oregon. Libraries of Oregon's mission is to enable easier access to these statewide resources and help Oregonians connect with their home libraries.
