The State Library of Oregon has announced that we intend to cancel our statewide contract to LearningExpress Library. Libraries will no longer have access to this resource effective November 1, 2023, unless you choose to subscribe individually. More details about this decision are available in this announcement.
LearningExpress is one of two suites of resources available to Oregon libraries as part of the Statewide Database Licensing Program (SDLP). Once cancelled, LearningExpress will no longer be available through your library’s individual account, via the Libraries of Oregon portal, or on OSLIS. This decision does not affect our subscription to the Gale/Cengage suite.
Libraries that want to continue to provide access to LearningExpress Library should reach out to your EBSCO sales representative for more information. Contacts are:

LearningExpress Library now features short videos and tutorials for high school and adult learners wanting to improve their reading, math, and science skills. Use these digital (Spanish version) or print (Spanish version) flyers to promote these new resources.
Later this year Gale Business Insights: Global will become Gale Business: Insights, offering an enhanced user experience with added features and functionality. The new experience will take effect December 2022 but prior to that in October, users will see a “Try It Now” button with the option to preview the new experience within the current database. More details about the enhancements can be found on this recent Gale blog post.
In August 2022, 30 new titles eBook titles were added to the Statewide Database Licensing Program’s Gale eBooks collection. With the advice of members of the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee, titles were added in the area of mental health, equity, and inclusion. Two reference works were also added: Gale Encyclopedia of Psychology (4th edition, published 2022) and Diccionario de Sinonimos, Antonimos, Paronimos (Spanish language thesaurus).
A complete list of titles with detailed information is available. You can view the list of titles added in 2022 by filtering this spreadsheet with the code oregonsc2022.
All participating libraries should see these titles available when you log in to your Gale eBooks collection. Please contact Arlene Weible with any questions.
MARC records for Gale eBook titles can be downloaded from the Gale Support Site. More information about accessing and using MARC records can also be found at the Oregon Statewide Databases Support Site.
